Admission Procedure

Preamble

K.L.E. Society’s P. C. Jabin Science College, Hubballi is committed to a fair, transparent, ethical, compassionate, equitable and consistent admission process.  The admission policy is in tune with aspirations of saptarshis which endeavors to provide quality education for north Karnataka youth with values and social commitment.  Admission shall be open to all aspirant youngsters regardless of caste, creed, religion, language background, geographic location, or communal status.

Scope

This policy and guidelines apply to prospective applicants seeking admission as well as stakeholders participating in the admission process.

Admission Committee

The management shall constitute an Admission committee consisting of Principal, Faculty members from various departments, Administrative staff every year.  The committee is responsible for executing the Admission Policy and Guidelines.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Admission Committee has the following roles and responsibilities:

    • Define and modify the admission policy and guidelines in line with the parent society and University. 
    • Identify and adhere to the government norms of admissions.
    • Schedule of admission (date, time and venue).
    • Media Management/Printing of required Brochures and other materials.

Eligibility

A candidate who has passed two-year Pre-University Course (PUC) Examination conducted by Pre-University Education Board, Government of Karnataka, or 10+2 Examination conducted by CBSE or equivalent examinations by any Other State or any other recognized Board / Department shall be eligible for admission to First Semester U.G. Programme.

    1. For B.Sc. Programmes, a candidate who has passed PUC / 10+2 with Science or Diploma in Paramedical Courses (not less than 2-year duration) shall be eligible for admission.
      • A candidate opting life science subjects like Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Microbiology, etc., as DSCC in the B.Sc. Programme must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as prerequisite subjects at the qualifying examination.
      • A candidate opting subjects like Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as DSCC must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as prerequisite subjects at the qualifying examination.
      • A candidate opting Statistics as DSCC for B.Sc. degree must have studied Statistics or Mathematics as prerequisite subject at the qualifying examination.
      • A student of Diploma in Paramedical Course is eligible for Chemistry and any other Life Science subjects as DSCC.
    2. For B.C.A. Programme, a candidate with PUC/ 10+2 Science or Commerce with Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Accountancy / Computer Science or 3 -year Diploma with Computer Science / Information Science or 2-year JOC / ITI with Computer Science, shall be eligible.
    3. For Post graduation programmes, a candidate who has passed the qualifying degree examination from a recognized University with 60% marks shall be eligible to apply for postgraduate programmes. 

Admission Procedure

An exclusive and functional office shall be responsible for executing the admission process of the institution. The office shall decide the admission criteria, norms and process for each programme, every academic year.

Pre-admission process

  • Preparation of the tentative calendar for counseling in various programmes.
  • Updating of programme details and fee structure in the website.
  • Preparation of prospectus, posters and brochures.
  •  Advertisement in news papers and social media.
  • Notification of admission dates of various programmes.
  • Setting up of help desk to give details about the programmes, eligibility criteria, and admission requirements and other supporting facilities. 

Admission requirements

Any candidate seeking admission to a course shall be asked to submit the following attested documents along with the application form.

  • Class XII Statement of Marks/Degree Marks Card.
  • SSLC Marks Card or equivalent certificate issued by the competent authority.
  • Income and Caste Certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Migration Certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Eligibility Certificate (wherever applicable)
  • Aadhar Card.
  • Two Passport size Photos
  • Undertaking form.
