ABOUT DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY
Since inception, in 1957 the biology department has been established and Botany department was bifurcated during 1974. The department of Botany has well equipped two laboratories, one research laboratory, Museum with more than 200 preserved specimens, models, bio visual charts, fossil slides and dry specimens. College garden with medicinal plants is maintained by the department as learning source for students. The department has well qualified, experienced and trained faculty. Our department is conducting four certificate courses in Gardening and Landscaping, Plant Tissue Culture, Medicinal Plants for Health and Mushroom Culture. The vision of the department is to conduct innovative teaching, research and outreach on the patterns and processes of life with a focus on plants and their environment.
