DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS

Establishment :
The Department of Mathematics has come into existence since the inception of the Institute. For B.Sc., System of three subjects of equal importance was introduced in the year 1990. Semester system was introduced in 2005. Autonomous status was given by UGC in the year 2007 and continued in 2012. The department is involved in teaching mathematics to the students of different combinations of B.Sc. The staffs of the department are actively participating in teaching and motivating students in extra-curricular activities.

Mission :
To provide every undergraduate student with mathematical experiences and mathematical ideas that will serve as a foundation for careers and further studies.

Goal :
To be a model department for teaching by imparting quality education of high standard for the overall personality development of young mathematicians to serve the society and the nation and to be a role models in the knowledge –based society.
